Students become members of the Student Nurse Association upon admission into the SWIC Nursing Program. If you are a Pre Nursing student (still working on the pre requisites) and are interested in joining the Student Nurse Association please contact the SNA president or Kim Keel in the Nursing Office. There is no cost or application necessary!!
Each year SNA Officers are chosen through an election process in ballot form from 1st year students and those newly elected officers will take office at the beginning of their second year. The current officers will provide newly elected officers with all information needed to carry out necessary duties. Officers have the opportunity to attend National SNA Conferences. This is a FANTASTIC endeavor that allows officers to enhance our organization and community.
The SNA fund raises to in order to benefit our group, community, and fellow SWIC students. We make an annual donation to the Shriners, Domestic Violence Prevention Center, and the Foundation Scholarships here at SWIC. SNA is also active in community service projects throughout the Metro East Area.
Our organization also provides an opportunity to members to obtain their REQUIRED CPR certification for a base rate. Students will be instructed by fellow students. This is a fantastic opportunity for all! Students will also have a chance to become CPR instructors themselves!
