The Anthropology Club is open to all students who want to learn more about the field of Anthropology including the subfields of Archaeology, Liguistics, Biological Anthropology and Ethnology.

The AITP offers students an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of and to foster a better understanding of the role of computers in business. The Web Apprentice Consortium is a subgroup of the AITP focusing on Web design and development.

The Astronomy Club introduces students and the community to the wonders of the sky with the "unaided eye" as well as telescopes.

BACCHUS is an international and university based peer education program focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other student health and safety issues. The mission of the group is to actively promote peer education as a useful element of campus health education and wellness efforts. BACCHUS focuses on the development and promotion of positive lifestyles and decision-making skills.

The SWIC Chess Club was established to share chess strategies and to teach interested students how to play or improve their skills.

The Children's Touring Theatre Company tours with the Children's Play each year to grade schools in the community college district. for a schedule of the May events.

Published once a month from October through May, the newspaper keeps students informed of campus events.

Head to Hand: Literary MagazineBack to top

Published twice a year, Head to Hand considers students submissions of poetry, prose, drama, line art, photography, etc. for publication. Students should check bulletin boards for reading periods and submission requirements. Copies of the magazine are available at all campus information desks and bookstores.

This Club provides horticultural leadership, helps to beautify the camps sites, maintains outdoor horticultural land laboratories, and sponsors speakers and field trips in the horticultural area.

This group is open to those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, cross-dressers and their supporters. This is a SWIC student club but we welcome the attendance of partners and other members of our local community.

Southwestern students may participate in drama from Sophocles to Miller in the Three Act Play presented in the fall. Anyone enrolled at Southwestern is eligible to try out for the full-length production.

The Student Committee for the Visual Arts is a service organization open to students interested in the cultural image of Southwestern. Members meet at least once a month to organize and hang art exhibitions, to sponsor lectures and workshops, and to purchase art for the college.
